Transaction Confirmation on Hydra and Rollups

Hey guys, I understand that Ethereum relys on rollups for scaling while Cardano uses its state channel protocol Hydra.

In this video, around 14:15 IOHK [explaines](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SnNMRidCEfw) that rollups need onchain commitments thus are not confirmed instantly.
On the other hand, Hydra’s transaction confirmation seems to be instantaneously. Me, as a beginner thinks: “Instant good, slow on chain confirmation bad”. But is that correct?

I do not know exactly what that means in terms of security, decentralistion, end user experience etc. So if someone could please explain this, I would appreciate it 🙂
